Greetings & Welcome!
Greetings & welcome to A Friend of Friends (AFoF)! I’m Luckie Daniels, one of the Conductors on this modern-day, digital version of the Underground Railroad.
Our goal at AFoF is simple –we are here to assist our Ancestors in achieving their freedom, finding their voice and restoring their name.
In the TRUE spirit of the Underground Railroad, we’re aided in this effort by A Friend of Friends, strangers–for the most part–who have joined us on this journey of discovery and restoration.
These are truly exciting times in the world of genealogy and I am encouraged that we are traveling this road together.
The AFoF slave document and artifact repository will set a historical precedent, a shining example of descendants–slave and slave owner–working together for a common goal.
We epitomize the meaning of community!:-)
Thank you for being A Friend of Friends.
Luckie.

Luckie & San,
You guys have outdone yourselves. What a wonderful idea and a much needed outlet. The design here is warm and welcoming and the content is addictive. Looking forward to all of the upcoming posts.
Great job!
Welcome welcome welcome! Wonderful information to be had here and one can never have too many blogs rights?
I know this will be a great project – I admire your tenacity and your dedication. But you already knew that!
Thanks Amy & T2! Keeping AFoF current will take a community effort but I’m up for the challenge!
AFoF lives so that the wonderful work we’ve begun with CoAAG’s First Edition ~ Restore My Name, continues!
Can you tell, I’m STOKED?!:-)
Luckie.
Woo-hoo! So I can add this to my list of repositories for images and transcriptions of documents with information on slaves, yes?
I was presented the “Ancestors Approved” award by Lori Hellmund of Genealogy and Me Blog. As a recipient of this award I’m supposed to list ten things I have learned about any of my ancestors that has surprised, humbled, or enlightened me and pass along the award to ten other bloggers who I feel are doing their ancestors proud.
I have chosen to present you with the award. You can pick up the picture of the award on my blog post at http://debsresearch.blogspot.com/2010/04/sentimental-sunday-my-ancestors.html
Keep up the great work of sharing the stories of your ancestors!
