In the name of God Amen.  I John Baden Senr. of Prince Georges County and State of Maryland being weak in body but thanks be to God of a sound and disposing mind, memory & understanding, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say, First and principally I commit my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body to the Earth to be decently buried by my Executor hereinafter named.  Item I give and bequeath to my son John Baden Jr. and his heirs in addition to what I have already given him one Feather Bed and Beding.  Item I give and bequeath to my Grandson John Thomas Baden and his Heirs forever all my part of two tracts of Land whereon my son Alexander Baden decd. lived, called Mansfield and Collings Comfort containing one Hundred acres be the same more or less. my will and desire is that my Grandson John Thomas Baden shall pay to my four grandchildren to wit George Adams Baden, Benjamin Josias Baden, Hanable Austin Baden, and Sarah Ann Baden three hundred Dollars to be equally divided amongst them share and share alike to be paid as they respectively arive to the age of one and twenty years. it is my will and desire that my grandson John Thomas Baden shall pay to my Grand son Robert Baden three hundred dollars to be paid to the said Robert Baden within one year after my decease clear of Interest. Item I give to my Grand children Elizabeth Baden and Jeremiah Maulding Baden the sum of seventy five Dollars to be equally divided between them to be paid by my Executor. Item I give to my Grandson John Thomas Baden one negro man Harry and one negro woman Cate to be slaves during their lives and also give him one negro woman Harriot untill the first day of January Eighteen hundred and thirty two, at which time my will and desire is that she be free from all service of any person or persons claiming any right under me.  Item I give to my granddaughter Elizabeth Teresa Baden the use of one negro woman Sylvia untill the first day of January Eighteen hundred and forty two at which time my will and desire is that she be free from all service of any person or persons claiming any right under me.  Item I give to my Grandson John Thomas Baden in addition to what I have already given him all the residue of my Estate of whatsoever kind and not otherwise disposed of byt this my last Will and Testament.  Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my Grandson John Thomas Baden sole Executor of this my last Will and testament revoking and annulling all former Wills by me heretofore made ratifiing and confirming this and none other to be my last Will and Testament.  In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this seventh day of July Eighteen hundred and twenty four.

Then came Thomas N. Baden, Leonard P. Harvey and William Harvey the three subscribing Witnesses to the aforegoing last Will & testament and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that they did see John Baden Senr. the testator therein named sign and seal this will and heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will and testament, that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that they respectively subscribed their names as Witnesses to the will in the presence of the Testator at his request and in the presence of each other.
